2015 SJ, Cold Fusion alignment tool & driveshaft runout

Measuring yesterday I used 2 v-blocks similar to the picture provided above (thank you, that helps a ton) and was able to measure just less than .020" on a dial across the entire length. I think my shaft is fine (no pun intended) and will reinstall and shim accordingly. In my original post I...

2015 SJ, Cold Fusion alignment tool & driveshaft runout

That's a bummer, I can't remember the tolerances off the top of my head but if you pull it out we can measure it. I'm putting a dial on mine tomorrow

2015 SJ, Cold Fusion alignment tool & driveshaft runout

I understand, I'll dive deeper into this thing. To properly measure driveshaft runout where should it be measured? I'm assuming just behind the midshaft splines and just in front of the prop threads?

Super Jet Lites Class Superjet build

Big kahuna has it right, it might be best to slot it so you can try all positions and see what works for you. Mine is about 1° up a the moment and no front sponsons, but I'm still getting this thing dialed in just how I want it

Super Jet Lites Class Superjet build

Sorry for raining in the parade, you can look at it like I'm saving you the trouble of pulling the engine and midshaft to align the pump. I learned the hard way

Super Jet Lites Class Superjet build

Just an fyi, when you install the 61x nozzle you need to remove your engine and midshaft from the ski to align your pump/driveshaft. I have found that the mounting ears(where nozzle bolts to hull) on the 61x nozzle are slightly thicker that the oem 08+ nozzle. This will create an upward angle of...

Super Jet Lites Class Superjet build

I agree that putting rear sponsons on an SXR causes the rear end to lift noticeably. I haven't added the rears to mine yet because they havent proven necessary just quite yet. I am also running a leveled older sj nozzle with a prowatercraft rideplate and i enjoy the handling

Super Jet Lites Class Superjet build

We tested front sponsons extensively on the sj when i worked at Pro-Watercraft. Long story short, if you run the OEM nozzle, unmodified (pointed upwards) AND the front sponsons, the ski will lift too much on starts and coming out of corners, regardless of sponson placement on the hull. This...
