Simple things, make sure all connections are clean and tight. Check the connection between the stator wiring and ebox at the cap on top of ebox. Check start stop plug, they can get corroded.

Ive used a RN waterbox on a squarenose and used the oem squarenose exhaust hose. It is nearly the same ID as the oem RN hose, just a thinner wall IIRC. You can heat it slightly with a heat gun and it will go right on. I've done it several times.

RRP aluminum bolt I assume, I am not a fan of them. OEM stainless is the only way to go. Be sure to use plenty of anti sieze when reassembling with the spacer piece as mentioned above, especially if the nut and the bolt are dissimilar metals.

There are definitely some cases where aftermarket is NOT the way to go. I've learned that over the years.

I have one here that measures .030" and is 2 layers. It came from a 1997 gp760. I am 99% sure it is oem as the motor looked untouched when I bought it. I believe a friend of mine confirmed the oem metal 760 hg was .030", I'll ask for his sources.
