I really like mine (it's a JSU head, same, same), but the domes are more expensive than ADA. You do have to notch the side of the cylinder to make the girdle bolts fit. It looks way better than the weird brackets ADA uses.
You are using a piston travel to degree correlation chart for a stock stroke engine. You have a stroker and cannot use that chart any longer, throw it away.
Your piston is located .06" lower in the cylinder, but NOT 4* lower. Piston height is not measured in degrees, crank rotation is. You...
Ya, sucks. Detonation is the usual cause for a closed gap. Sometimes you get away with the closed gap being the only damage, sometimes the damage happens before the gap closes.
Time for a rebuild, but you need to figure out why the detonation. It's nice to find a smoking gun before your...
Timing is measured in degrees of crank rotation. The crank is a 360* circle and the piston is at 0* at TDC no matter what stroke your crank is. So (for instance) if static is 10* BTDC stock and you install a stroker crank, you are still at 10* BTDC with your stator in the same spot...
I wondered when one of you guys would catch that...lol. When it comes to my own time for me, ya, I don't value it very high. Nobody pays me to watch TV from 6-10pm, so why should I count my time as money working on my ski as fun? Many times though, my money saving ideas end up costing more in...
Amperage is the same from start to finish in an electrical system, so all power cables could have issues along with the contacts in your starter solenoid.
Another thing, an ohm test may not tell you everything. Say if you have 100 strands in a cable and 99 of them are broken and 1 makes...
The pic (and link) I posted was of the Renthal bars. I don't have personal experience with them, but you wouldn't have to redrill your plate since the center is straight and only the outside is bent.
I'm not honestly sure what 4* bars I have. I do know I hate straight bars.
When I saw a difference I immediately wondered why and if strength had anything to do with it. I'll keep an eye on it and make sure all is well.
You don't happen to know where the cracks develop do you? I imagine they originate from a bolt hole, but plate to engine or plate to motor mount...
I had never ran across this on here so I thought to pass this on in case anyone was looking to trim some weight and might have some bed plates sitting around.
I noticed the hole design on the 650/750 bed plates are different so I weighed them up.
650 and 750sx looked the same, but I...
I was curious what that angle came out to be on those above bars, so I figured it out to be about 13*. Seeming like this was a bit high compared to our "4 degree" bars, I decided to measure some of my 4* bars and figure out their real angle. I ended up with 7.5* roughly for 4* bars. For a point...
Renthal has some "Road Sport" flat bars made from aluminum. Don't know the "angle" but if you whip out your SohCahToa you could figure it out.
Width is 724mm, center is 215mm so your "adjacent" is 254.5mm. Pull back (opposite) is 60mm. (based off their website)...
I use jensonusa.com, nahsbar.com, and I've found some rediculously cheap tires at biketiresdirect.com as well.
There are tons of others, but these are my 3 go-to's.
3/8" npt is actually about .65" OD, 1/4" npt is about .5" OD, and 1/8" npt is about .38" OD
You have to remember, the size of the thread is because the INSIDE of the pipe or fitting is what it's named after.
