Just like Bruce said, cardboard box, plywood bottom and top, lots of packing (I use sheets of pink insulation board for the outermost layer). Bolt a crappy flywheel cover on it and up charge for it if needed, if and when it gets dropped, the bottom flange of the case is susceptible to breaking.

Not sure what you are referring too, we ride the river every week with no issues.

When I live in Florida, I rode all year long, lots of little tweaks to get back on the water for the weekend but never wanted to take a solid chunk of time to bang out any large projects. Now it's a new build every winter.

No complaints, I don't think it has the ability to be adjusted out at all (the way it is designed requires the poles to be run all the way into each end) so once the tubes are cut, you can only go shorter. Other than that it looks great, fits great and has had no issues.
