    Cylinder cracking on 61x/62T

Dont get too wrapped up with the need for a girdled head. Ive been watching several ported 50+mph boats run for 5yrs, 100+ rides, without girdles. I will buy one when they get rid of removable domes and O-rings. Those two features guaranty ongoing maintenance problems where cylinder cracking...

To port, or not to port? That is the question.

You need a good pipe and prop first. Porting does very little without these items working correctly.

    ? About Cylinder/Port Height & Timing

The big problem with a 650 is in the fact they have to be tuned right at the edge of meltdown in order to make good power. Anyhow, you taking on a very expensive and time consuming task.

Rad Dudes X2 STA Surf Brace

These "surf braces" can not replace the function of factory compression tubes. Plus removing the hood foam will sink and X2.

    SX/SXi/SXi Pro foam

All foam is not the same. Yamaha clearly uses the wrong formula. By all accounts including my own, Kawasakis foam does not soak up water. I have tested several types of 2-3lb foam that would gain less than 1% after being submerged in 12" of water for 7 days. Im looking for an inexpensive...

Why do you need the pistons BEFORE you bore?

Its nice to make them perfect but, our light weight cylinders are not the most dimensionally stable nor are the running temperatures consistent enough to benefit much from ultra precise machining. Most jetski bores must have excessive clearance to survive the horrible treatment they get from...

    701 porting

You have a high port cylinder, it will make a lot of power/thrust. Use a limited pipe and a short prop, then the lag will diminish greatly. It should be fine if you can get use to a smooth throttle. If you must fan the throttle then you are in a hopeless situation that can only be cured by...

    SX/SXi/SXi Pro Can I put a 750 in my 650sx?

There is no better standup for straight line speed. The 750sx hull is fast but gets too unstable in the 50s.

    300/440/550 Doubts of a 650sx

You need to figure out what you want from a ski and how much money you are willing to spend on this hobby. Keeping your old 650 may be the best choice, or you may need a $20,000 custom ski. Most people compromise and go for a Superjet. For the money it is the best option for the way people here...

Who runs a 155 pump on their SJ?

Yamaha have already tried it in their B2 and XL700/760. The 155 will have lower blade angle than a 144 consuming the same power. Less pressure drop at the inlet and over the blades should make more static thrust. This is strictly for low speeds, I expect to lose some top speed. If I get positive...

Who runs a 155 pump on their SJ?

This is one of my upcoming projects. I think that I can get better hookup and thrust from 0-15 mph over a 144 pump. Mechanically the swap is very simple, a SJ driveshaft will fit and the pump bolts in. Im going to machine the shaft to use the same bearing as an 1100 because axial loads will be...

    Mismatch case

Just measure the bore and see what you have. The bearings dont care if the case is mismatched as long as the bore is correct.

    Diff in throttle cables

Kawasakis cable jacket ends are larger diameter and the cable itself is shorter because Keihins dont have wrap around drums. You will need to either modify the mounting plate or get a universal drum.

    total loss or pipe

A modern T/L, among other things, can make throttle response noticeably faster. Problem is that the engine will make no more power than stock.

Anybody really chop up a sqaurenose hull? Instead of a 300sx swap.

A stripped down 650sx is also short and light weight.

Why jet skis kill...a good but frustrating read

People are dying from blunt force trauma. Rudders dont have to be sharp or ridged in order to work well enough for this application.

Why jet skis kill...a good but frustrating read

There must not be many successful product liability cases against PWC MFGs. Adding a rudder would be cheap compared to increasing mfg insurance.
