That's the way I did mine. I used a good bit of expanding foam epoxy to hopefully fill the gaps. But it might be a good idea to open up the turf to make sure there is no holes or broken spots. Scott

Glass the hold back together before glassing the hold into the side. Also, lay a couple layers of cloth on the tray extending up on the sides by and inch or so for a little reinforcement. Good luck-Scott
