so will a normal set work for the rear mounts to? i've come in on more than one occasion to really shallow water where the stern of the ski hit and the motor moved enough to push the shaft back pretty far but still make contact. then i have to go take it apart and push the shaft back out to the right distance.

what you think?

you have to mock it up to see if you installed them on the oposite side, but in the rear, if they would sit right.

I quickly photoshopped the exhaust side front mount to the rear side carb mount to see placement. however, the part of the keeper that flares up may not be close enough to the engine craddle to do anything.

I like the idea though. I have tail landed a few times into the bottom of the lake and damaged the intermediate housing.

If you took the front left and put on rear right and right front on rear left.
the tabs of keepers would sit right.

I think its a freakin awesome Idea.

I seem to remember talking to someone about this - it doesn't work. I don't think the KK's engage the engine cradle enough to make a difference for a tail landing.

i thought that would be the case. The rear side of the engine craddle has a completely different shape than the front end.

I'm sure a rear set of KK's can be designed though.

Think you're right.
I believe the clearance between couplers is less than the clearance between keepers and bedplates.

Why not have some one weld some tabs on the bedplate for you? In the kawi the bed plate has some tabs coming down the catch the keepers going forward and backward. just a thought

Talked to Blowsion ! They are working on it now. should work, but they are going to check clearances and make a new set with right tabs if need be !

I just put a set in last week and had wondered the same thing. I fit them in to see if one was for the rear and one was for the front and was surprised to see they both went in the front. My drive shaft has moved back so I know I took a good hit at least once.

I don't remember exactly but i didn't think that the tab actually lines up with anything on the bedplate. A little bend in the tab though and it might. There was more than enough room to fit them anyway, just need the right shape.

I've been wanting to try it with a set for a while but never had spares to mock it up. I think they would help a ton.

I mocked it up and it didn't work, the tabs don't connect with anything. The bedplate is too high and doesn't come back far enough. The right shape would work just fine but the fronts won't work on the back is all I'm saying.

I've been trying to make some rear ones as well but have changed my mind now.
I'm gonna put a steel rod inside the hollow mid-shaft where the pump drive shaft goes in. I did it to a mates at the weekend and it worked, although its tedious putting the shaft in till it hits the rod and then pulling it out and cutting it down.
Make sure its steel and thus magnetic so you can pull it out.
