Ok I give up. I've thought it over 100x and I just don't feel confident in my skillz to cut my new 08 up and install these damn klowners myself... Anyone in the area or within 2-3 hours wanna make some dough, I know I can turf it myself, but I don't think I've got all the tools to get the holds done myself. Still trying to get all the rubber/glue off the toprails(wtf did yamaha use to put them on!!!???). Have all the materials to install the footholds as far as I know.
Foam/epoxy/resin/couple sheets of fibercloth etc...

It really is not that big of deal. I sat on my footholds for over 4 months for I was scared to cut my 07 hull. Then after a few beers I did the first cut. After that it was all gravy. Two days later, holds were glued in and only the footholds to turf.

It might not be that big of a deal to us... but to a new guy with a brand new ski, I would be nervous about cutting holes in it as well...

You can definitely screw it it (leaks, don't hold, bad resin mix, etc)

If your willing to pay some one a little I'm sure you will find some one to do it for you....

Good luck!!!

X2-rags is gonna be in the area around thanksgiving and he said he'd give me a hand. Yeah having never done it or anything like that, and with a new ski. I want someone experienced giving me a hand or lookin over my shoulder, so I don't mess my purty 08 up or have problems(leaks etc..) down the road.

After riding his flatdeck back in august, I must say it's pretty damn cool! Although I'm not much of a footstrap person. I might stick a single strap up front though.

don't let him get too happy with the cutting tool though, you might end up with a flat deck!!! :beerchug::headbang:

If you've got some extra time I would cut the top front squared edge off of the Klowner footwell and angle it some. Then keep the actual foothold area the same. I would also extend the Klowners further forward for a little extra toe room.

When I installed my Klowners I had to cut the bottom of the footwell and change the backside bottom to clear the exhaust tube.

If you need some pictures of my Klowner install let me know and I can post some pics for you.

Lick, Im reglassing a set of foot holds that have cracked at the bondline (of the foot holds) Im not sure if this was the guys first set he ever installed in a ski or not. Good turf had to be yanked off before it was time.

If I was new and could get somone to put mine in correctly the first time, I would let someone else install them.
