I have used the sitdown wear rings by using a flat 1/2 bit to counterbore the side against seal and putting the bolts in backwards. Did it many times without issues. Use a socket on the counterbored side to hold bolt head and tighten the nuts on the outlet side. Save some $$.
Heat the coupler up. Set it on clean rag and hit it with a rubber hammer in a ccw direction while holding crank by hand at web. Never had any trouble getting it off this way and you dont have to get it very hot either. Never damaged one.
I pulled the factory waterbox from my WB1 to put in a rear raider box. It fits fine up under the footwell, but how did you secure it to keep it from rubbing a hole in hull or waterbox itself? I will wrap it in turf.
Once i went aftermarket the wb1 and sj just sit in the garage. Its night and day differance. The only complaint is that the rocker nose makes it loose at higher speeds and much more splash in your face. Makes it harder to chase boats. Superior in every other way.
Funny. I was in lock haven today. I ride at bald eagle late in the year. Mostly east branch dam and kinzua as the water is so much cleaner. Your welcome to ride my tigercraft viper sometime if you like.
Ok. Got this done. Once i pulled out the 50 pieces of pink insulation i assume is for flotation, i realized that tigercraft uses square brass threaded blocks and uses epoxy to hold them in. When the ride plate bolt fell out, the brass block came loose and poped out. It was laying in there and...
I have access to the inside, but its very tight. Probably have to use a caulking gun to get anything back there. I think i will try the washers/nuts thing. Thanks.
What about a large stainless fender washer first, then nut/washer/nut. I can barely get my arm back there. Ski lives a rough life. Not like ocean riding, but always in the air.
I pulled the rear left rear ride plate bolt insert on my 2015 tigercraft viper. Took it out today and she was taking on water like crazy. Its pretty tight back there. Whats the proper way to fix this. Washer and nut on inside of hull and cover with 3m 5200? Cant really complain the skis been out...
