So looking at it a bit more, all I need to do is find a shoulder screw that is the same thread and grip length as the stock turn plate. Length L should be the thickness of a Umi turn plate + stock turnplates L. I'm at work now, could anyone fill in the missing dimenstions for E, D, L, and thread?

Kevlar is real hard to work with and is too heavy IMO. Carbon and hybrid weaves are pretty but are overkill for the home reinforcement job. 17oz is way overkill. I'd think you would want to use a couple layers of alternated orientation 6 or 8oz biax

Is it a J14 or a J12? I understand some of these Carolina skiff boats came with yamaha 701s (which you have despite the wetjet markings). Its a good motor.

HJC MX helmet, cheap, light and has removable inserts. Also, it has the option to upgrade to closed cell inserts. Best of all, its DOT crash rated unlike a downhill helmet. If your going to wear a helment, why not get one that offers good protection.

You can fill it with water on the trailer and watch for water to see where its leaking (not too high, don't flood the engine). Most likely from the steering cable.
