I used the mounts off a square nose superjet. Not sure if the superjet/fx1 front mount of the intake grate are the same width across. The best say to know is take a superjet intake grate and just place it on your fx1 to see if the holes line up. If they do, then cut that sucker out and epoxy it...
Well I am not sure what you mean by that. There is nothing to weld onto. You could do it by welding a plate to the intake grate. (Have the plate aligning towards the pump shoe. and have that plate mount to the original mounts.) However, the front of the intake grate takes a lot of pressure and...
Got a white carbon hood for my FX1, don't want to go through the hassle of painting it and what not to match my hull. Just gonna throw on a few stickers. I know a lot of you are very artistic, any thoughts on this look?
My SS pole bolt stripped my lowered UMI billet pole bracket. Billet looks better, but I will always choose SS over billet/aluminum anyday. Thats just from my personal experience.
There are countless threads about this subject but here is a basic overview
FX1 is 25lbs. or so lighter, more squarely, stock comes with a 61x 701, small pump that creates a lot of cavitation and all the FX1 enthusiasts have bigger pumps or have considered them.
Superjet is 25lbs. or so...
Any thoughts? Besides the power output, I think for my case; reliability is much more important then anything else. I keep hitting my chin pad in the surf, I need a little bit more "umf" to get me out of those situations. Not spending a dollar more then $450. I know, I know, $50 more and a...
I really enjoy having it, proves to be a great benefit to my ski. Some people say they don't notice the difference, some do. Fortunately, my $50 was worth it.
Well in any case, just giving examples, thats why I put the "etc."
So what are you going to do about your handling? Intake grate? Ride plate? Instead of spending thousands of dollars on high end engine mods, I would consider easy and cheaper alternatives such as freestyle pump cone, bored reduction nozzle, low-end pitch SS impeller, lightened flywheel, mild...
JB Weld, mighty putty, aluminum putty, they are probably the worst alternatives. I used them and none of them would hold up. I even have a build thread that I posted up a while back. Anyways, the puttys feel really strong. Once they dry its hard to imagine them breaking. Well, within about 5...
Do you have a roller? You really don't want any air pockets showing, any areas of your glasswork that are as white as the cloth is, you need to either add more resin or roll it out. Once you can see through the cloth (clear finish) you did a good job. Cheers
If you are training for an ironman or even thinking about it, why would you let someone tell you differently? No one knows your mental capability except you. I say mental, because that is what an ironman is. Everyone is an athlete and everyone is physically prepared, thats a given, its an...
I am in absolute shock, every time I click on this thread, there is always something crazy being done. There are so many things that Fox can do and I know he is taking everything into account. So many things can be/will be modified to this thing. I would bet money that in the next 2 months, no...
When you put the driveshaft in, you will be able to tell where the gaps are, and just put the shims to fill them in. If you dont shim it, you put your splines on your driveshaft at risk and you will feel a lot of vibration. I didn't shim mine on my first ride and I felt like I was on a tractor.
