Remember this ski??

You guys will probaly all remebeer this ski that was up for sale a while back.

These pictures are from the end of summer in 08 and I havent worked on it since. Its awaiting a wet sanding and another couple coats of clear then I have to put it all together.

I bought a couple sheets of hydro turf and plan on turfing the thing myself. I also plan on turfing the rails. I never worked with the stuff before so we will see how it goes.

Im buying some new mods for the motor and all in all it should be a good summer.

Im just getting all excited for summer to get here to actually float the thing and thought I would share some pics.

Alright have a question about puting the pump in this ski.

I know in my current ski there is 1 shim on each side of the pump were you bolt it to the hull on the back 2 bolts. Now on the new hull should i put those exact shims back in? Or do I need any shims at all?

How big of a deal are they to have in there?

When you put the driveshaft in, you will be able to tell where the gaps are, and just put the shims to fill them in. If you dont shim it, you put your splines on your driveshaft at risk and you will feel a lot of vibration. I didn't shim mine on my first ride and I felt like I was on a tractor.

WEll if i put the pump in with the ski sitting like it does in the water, wont the weight of the pump make the whole unit bend down and there will be a big gap??

I usually shim my pump with my motor and mid shaft out of the boat. Otherwise, just put it back how the factory had it for now.......it made it this long with the shims in those locations without destroying the splines.

x2 only way to truely align it is with the midshaft out... you want the pump drive shaft to be truly centered inside the hole where the mid shaft attaches.

Yea I think thats what I will do. So basically the only thing you can do is shim it so the shaft will move down if looking at the hole in the hull by adding shims.

The paint job before was pretty :):):):)t. Whoever did it didnt take anything apart so there was over spray everywere. The acual design they did was sweet but I didnt like the color choice to much myself.

It should be done with the last layers of clear in a couple weeks.

Ill post up some more pics then
I like the paint much better!

Yea it should turn out pretty nice when done. Plus im sending my motor over the Team Scream to wake it up a bit. Not sure exactly what im going to have them all do but I want more power

Well I almost have the hull done with paint. I need to wet sand the body and spray another coat of clear. I have been pretty lazy lately I must say.

Anyways I just sent my whole motor and exhaust to Team Scream and they are doing a bunch of work the it and when I get it back its going to be there Baby Scream package. So im pretty stoked about that.

736cc with porting, epoxied and ported cases, ADA girdled head, their boring the Factory pipe head and manifold, doing there stinger mod, there sending me a Jet Worx flow valve, their tuning my factory 38's so its turn key go for me, I have some carbon reeds and stuffers for the intake im going to throw in there, lightened flywheel, I bought a MSD enhancer, and I sent them my nozzle for them to bore too, Im going to get a new prop that they recommend.

So im hoping for a pretty big improvement and hopefully I can learn to do some barrel rolls this summer.

We will see but I cant wait to ride.
