I would ride it the rest of the year then bore the cylinders 1 over with new pro-x pistons. If you want a little more power it would be worth having it ported too. Would also upgrade the carb and intake to a mikuni sbn 44 carb. Impeller is probably pretty beat after 40 years too. Would upgrade...

Great question! It is pretty damn heavy. zxi is 590ish rtr and the sxr is around 550. So hopefully shes under 500 after the conversion?

check that the weights and holders are all good inside the bendix as well.

Ones I have pulled apart have grease all over the spring in the cover and in the brass bushing by the starter. I keep mine lubed. Not sure that's your issue though.

You might also try with an oem cover.

Look up Coffman Rocket pipe. Some threads on here with setup and instructions.

You might be able to find an old ATP epic.

Do you have a washer on each side of the spring in the flywheel cover?

Talking to a few people running stock 1100's in these hulls they are running low 60's. Few mods like the dry pipe and zeel should make it rip. Anyone else notice the sparkplugs/coils. (normally the coils are inside the ebox)
