Did you change the pump any, or just upgrade the motor?

I, for one, thank you! I'm not a facebook weenie and really not interested in being one. This site used to be awesome and still could be (- drama). I thank you for supporting the site.......perhaps riding will come back to you some day. In the mean time, thanks for your efforts!

5052 is very soft and usually used for forming. It shapes like butter but isn't very strong structurally. I''m not familiar with 5086.

Only up until 2008, then they're essentially the same. The 2008 and newer poles have a improved design FX top piece (it's a little beefier)

The 550sx pump should be superior to the 440 pump. It uses the new style bearing housing at the bulkhead and the driveshaft weighs about half as much as the 440. The early 550 pumps were coaxial, but the 550sx pump is axial just like the 440 pump.

Look elsewhere for the problem.........battery location wont change shiz! And, it will mess with your hood tubes to move it to center.

I think you'll find that the FX or Mod pipe work great with the smaller pump.

The shape is different as well......the curvature around the tank is sharper on the FX chamber. They will all fit if you run a SJ tank.

SS rivets for sure. I use thickened epoxy and shorten pole at the top, not the bottom. If you shorten from the bottom, it will no longer fit the lines of the hood and looks stupid (in my opinion). Plus, you actually realize more effective shortened length when in riding posture if shortened from...
