I have the same motor in a FX-1 hull, it doesn't effect handling like you'd think. That said, lighter would be nice.

Nothing really unique to look for with the FX. Like stated above, just check the sort of things you'd check with any ski.

Running SJ shaft and setting the pump back a little will give you more steering authority and help load the pump better. It looks like you have very little room for the prop and liner with the FX shaft? For ref, one of my FXs has the pump setback about 1" further back than my others and it...

This has been been my cheapest year for actual ski expenses so far........gas, oil, and a couple spark plugs! Then add in the costs of attending freerides, my new 4x4 van, etc....and the picture changes :)

I know it's probably WAY too late, but a raised nose rail would be awesome. It's one of my favorite mods to my FX.
