Most jet ski parts are not just bolt on and go. You have to take the proper steps to go in the right direction. You can't just spend $700 on a B-pipe, bolt it on and go. You have to get the carb tuned to work with the pipe. If you want Hydro-Turf, you need contact cement. If you want UMI...
When my dad tells me how much he hates me working on jet skis I always tell him; "Dad, would you rather have me be a homo and do drugs? Or would you rather have me work on jet skis? Thats what I thought....Thanks for the $20 dad!"
I've melted my cooling lines before. I sucked up some floating sewage goodies. A few things should be addressed. Change the cooling lines (clear/colored ones are crap.) Also, good idea to take the head pipe off and remove one water screw at a time and blow into each hole to see if its clogged.
I ride 100% surf, my equipment has touched fresh water only twice in the last 15 years. My electrics finally took a toll. JSS hooked me up with a bullet proof system. My boat starts right away and has a lot of snap with the new coils. I have never ran a bilge pump before, and after last week I...
Jono hard at work! He did a great job! Look at those smiles!
A few key parts that made this boat: Blowsion destroyers, Full carbon hood, RRP, two tone turf, New B-pipe, and most any other anodized part from Blowsion you can think of.
I used the 406 micro-balloons, maybe 407 - I forget. Anyways, used that as the filler under the hood line and bond rail.
As far as reinforcement went, I decided on a 12oz mat followed by 8oz carbon. And of course, West System epoxy
Our good friend Peter decided that he enjoyed riding water scooters in the surf. So he decided to buy an 06' SJ and make a nice $5k order through Blowsion. Peter is very new and unfamiliar with jet skis so Jon Hall (Jhall752) and myself built the boat for Peter. I was in charge of the...
Yeah it works, until you bend the rings.
A long screw driver in the couplers is the way to go. When you tighten the bolt the motor will turn and then the screw driver will be wedged in the couplers and the end of it will hit the ground.
The article says how dangerous jet skis are because they are not equipped with brakes. Well, boats don't have brakes either.
