oem is the best but pricing is nosebleed territory and NLA.used units are available but ????
and later model 21163-3710 with only one tail bolt and small body are much better than earlier big body 2 bolt versions.
the cheap 550 starters are trouble prone.only the oem kawi is recommended.
check your start solenoid and jump directly from battery to starter for testing.check battery and all wiring associated.measure voltage and amp draw if you can
a visual check will not cut it.
true but going closed loop allows for finer real world tuning instead of relying on a map that was established on a dyno somewhere.
that said,motorized vehicles have run just fine using canned maps.
