Leaving ski in the water for two weeks

I am going on a trip soon and will be on a lake in the northwest for two weeks. Can I leave the skis in the water for the duration without accumulating algae, barnacles, and other freeloaders?

Wondering if there is a standard timeframe, such as 4 days in and algae starts growing. I can take them out for any nights as recommended to let the hulls dry and break the cycle.

Not really a beach to pull them up onto, I will have them tied between the dock and shore so they are not rubbing the dock. Dock is an L shape and runs parallel to the shore.

Not sure. I'd think you could wipe it down with a rag while it floating a few times a week to keep knocked down ?

No scuppers, they are stock SJ hulls.

Ok, I'll wax them before I go and not worry about it!

I left a ski in the water for 3 days in an inland lake in Michigan - Lake Otsego. Every bare aluminum edge was covered in white corrosion like stuff. I can leave the same ski in the st Clair river and nothing. All depends on the water

I would make sure your ride plate and intake bolts are siliconed if it's gonna be soaking in the water.

I’ve left both of my SJs and Yamaha sx230 boat in the water for a week at smith lake in Alabama with zero issues. Just make sure to vent the skis before you start.

They are all stock, and I've removed the ride plate once on one of my skis. Do you mean silicone around the hole under the plate and then under the bolt head? Where can the water go if it leaks by the bolts?

Noted on venting, so it doesn't go 'boom'.

Will go into your foam. During a typical ride not so much, but soaking in the water.. Yes.
Basically, yeah but you don't have to take the plate off. Just silicone on the threads should be fine I'd think.

My buddy left his Superjet floating next to this Boathouse for an entire season. I think you'll be fine. As far as the Algae thing goes, if the ski is clean to start, I would be more worried about stains vs algae. The rivers and lakes around here have high iron and acidity. A white ski will have tan lines just after one beer on a sand bar sitting.
