remove the rubber outlet.you can then remove the flange, remove the rivet holding it to the pipe in the hull and pry it out gently.you can then access the pipe better and check for a hole.
the flange can be re siliconed in place.
it will work much better than the oem pipe but probably not as well as the b pipe would with your combo.
just run it and see if you like it.try it with water too,it may just work well enough for your expectations.
no need to get stuck on stupid but as you pointed out " limited" in a 62t which is not what the op has with his single carb 61x and perhaps 10hp gain but at an rpm that the op's motor will never see under load!!
also the divergent and convergent cones and stinger size and length are different...
based on the fact that the pfp is not a modded type 9 in it's tuning and peak rpm is much higher than what op's stock 701x will make max power at.
the pfp was never intended to extract the most power out of a stock 701.
even the type 9 you mention was tuned for more than a stock single carb...
you can rejet but performance may not be all there as this pipe is not really made for a stock engine combo.will still work better than a stock pipe however.
assuming you have the correct bushings for a cast pole, there is no reason they would not fit.
as mentioned above, only 2 sizes i've seen are for cast or billet poles.
i've run into this problem once before and just turned the bushing down on the bracket ends so they would fit.
