The 9-15 Hooker is ok, Solas concord must be pitched down. The same impeller will work for your stock 650 to a ported 760. Make sure to inspect the crank and use new OEM seals when you change the cyl.
Make sure to mark your flywheel and check the timing with any aftermarket flywheel. The MFGs tend to cheat by adding some advance making them more responsive than they would otherwise be. This is a disaster if an advance plate or very high compression is also used. I had a Vilder that toasted a...
A 6M6 and 61X flywheel is smaller and lighter than 62T. Your 650 nozzle is as big or bigger than any 701 nozzle and your 650 muffler/outlet tube was also used with 701s and not a performance factor.
Not by itself. 90% of the thrust comes from the pipe, porting, and pump combo. Big carbs, high compression, and light flywheels help with throttle response. Start with a pipe and low pitched impeller, those items will do the most good.
You will need to use the SX cable and bracket. Just loop the cable over the tank between the hull and battery. Glue some rubber wherever the cable touches to keep it from chaffing. The longer cable wont feel as crisp but will work just fine.
Since you are value conscious, the SJ is a better deal. A dirt cheap 650SX hull will leave more money for making thrust but but would be worth very little, even if it could do flatwater backflips.
Equipment vendors and event promoters share the same bed. Event MCs and judges set the narrative and price of winning, somehow its always at the expensive end of what is commonly available. The industry went from wanting the most money from the most people to wanting the highest margin from a...
You may get 75HP with the pipe on a stock cylinder, it should do around 45MPH. For best power and thrust the cylinder must be ported and the pump must be correct. This will make niticably more thrust and get you over 48+MPH. This is a big money game where a $10000 engine isnt enough power, at...
Either find a stock head from a 96-newer and have it milled/cut or get the ADA. Your 61X head is weaker than newer 64U castings, make sure to use a 96+ gasket if that route is taken. An ADA head looks good and has a built in girdle but can have sealing issues. The stock option will cost around...
Your tach makes tuning the main circuit much easier. Start with the 200 and open the top screw until peak rpm drops. If it happens with less than 1 turn out then use the smaller main jet. It is actually safer to open the top screw 3 turns and lean to peak or until accelleration declines. That...
It looks nice. Next time leave the backbone in tact where it meets the tower, its a weak spot. Moving the steering aft makes X2s much better at turning and jumping.
The failure mode of watercraft switches usually starts with a tear in the rubber boot. From there the connections either corrode or the springs go. The Yamaha switch is difficult to fix because the internal springs and connections are very small. Kawasaki switches have much larger components so...
An oven is easy to make for low temp work, I made one from urethane foam panels that worked great at 140-150F. My room temp epoxy molds didnt like it though. I think a 30psi autoclave could be made from an old propane tank if you are serious about prepreg, it is awfully expensive for a jetski.
