Super Jet Skat 8/16 orig design, or swirl 12/17 impeller?

My ski came with an original design skat impeller in it, it's old but in ok shape, only a few little nicks in the blades and it's marked with an 8-16 pitch. No idea how old it is but came in my old 90 sn so who knows if the pitch is true anymore.

My buddy had a brand new swirl 12/17 that he said I can my for cheap if I want, I'm just wondering what one would be a better impeller for my ski?

I have a basically stock 97 sj, have bored nozzle, ww pump cone, fp waterbox, lightend fw on a 62t/62t. This winter it will be getting piped, bored and ported. My riding is mostly playin in flat water or jumping waves do really just need accel and hook up.

GET THAT SWIRL, they work noticeably better than the old ones . You may need to pitch down slightly for your 62T cylinder.

Well I'm going to Just rock it at that pitch because once my motor is built it should be plenty low enuf I would think. There's only about a month of riding left up here in mn anyway lol. But do you think it will be as good or better low end as the old skat I have? I'm assuming better hook up but I just want to loose any low end hit.

Swaped them! Little better low end but had to put the stock cone back on, it would unload way to quick and cavitate. Def a better impeller but your right little lower pitch or more hp would be perfect.
