Overhead and clean almost all day. Chopped up a bit in early afternoon....wind came from the north for a while, then turned from the west again and cleaned up. Set waves held size throughout. Great day.
Daytona did the "small craft advisory" thing today... I heard.
A rider or two drove up from there to the spot and rode with us. It was truly....dare I say...."Epic"!
(cali guys get this stuff every day! lol...but true.)
I was paging down the sections on the main page and got to the "my ski" section and said (to myself), "hey dammit, I have one of those!" And realized that the current "break" that I am on is the longest in a decade. I've not even given it a 30 second sympathy-start in at least a month.
The last...
My buddy has an incredible dirt bike.
He only rides on asphalt tracks because of the extra work that's involved in maintaining his bike. He doesn't want all of that dust entering his engine, mud in the sprockets etc....
The shame is that he takes that bike to those asphalt tracks and it sux...
2" pvc or electrical pvc conduit works well for an sj hull. That's what I use. No brackets, no braces, ski stays as low as possible. Helps launch & load to be low.
2" will clear cross-members of your trailer with an sj hull.
Salt is lock-tite.
I use never sieze on everything. I even paint my trailer lugs with it. Yes, it gets everywhere, but it's better than breaking things when trying to do simple maint.
Freshwater riders rightly do things a bit differently. I have an old bottle of loc-tite....(7 years old or so..)...
Thought is was just gonna be a bad bruise....the way Jim acted. Knew he was hurt but had no idea that it was that serious.
Ice & ibuprofen seems silly now.
Heal-up bro!
No offense intended..
It sounds, to me, like:
The guy/gal that sold you this garbage was a much better salesperson than you are.
BTW: Contact me. I've got an inside line on some killer default/swap investment opportunities.
You can't lose!
I love CF stuff.
I ride an SJ with GP800 mounts.
I've not tried the CF mounts.
Sounds to me, that if you're worried about weight of CF mounts, you should try your best to break them!
I assume you ride flat water.
An extra piece of turf and some contact cement can snug-up any foothold.
Holds made for thick padding are great. But, over time, the padding mashes down and the extra-turf mod is needed.
Placing the extra piece of turf in the instep area will be hard to notice. (if you're concerned with cosmetics).
Kevin hooked me up with a b-pipe or two. Mod chambers on stock motors. (a while ago). Dealing with him was a good thing! He answered questions and made good suggestions b4 and after the sale.
IMO: always use new gaskets if you've got 'em.
It's not a good idea to dump an entire can of sea-foam into the tank. As much as I like the product....
She won't ride when the water is cold. (under 72). It sat way too long with that sea-foam and gas.
I had to ride it last weekend just to burn it out. I hate the stock length pole and the lack...
