The "Central Florida MotoLake FreeRide"...lol.
I understand why people like it, and the demo's etc...
It just seems odd for many to travel so far, to do the lake.
The last "memorable" waves were 2007 at the Freeride. Early A.M.
Maybe that's part of it.
Still, I must chuckle.
There was a time when I would ride both, and enjoy both. I define flatwater: no waves. Lake Atlantic.
Through the years I guess I've become a bit of a wave snob. Waiting for the really good days.
So, I'm all about surf. But, mostly because my ski is basically worthless on a lake. (I must admit...
I'm waiting for the 18 vane-osmotic-pressure-flux-titanium-ion filtering-featherlight-salinity solvent-bearing free-stress reducing-child friendly-installer proof-barge pushing pump from hell.
As soon as I can find a shop to fix my "uranium P32 space modulator", I'll get right on what seems to...
I've done the ratchet-strap thing on pressure washers and hand trucks...
However, I found it very hard to find an 8" tire (without rim).
It's really not worth the energy. $23.00 got me a new tire on a galvanized rim. How much less could a tire alone have been?
Safety is great.
Your time is...
Maybe it's the salt.
The darn thing will be gritty a week after cleaning it. (it's 10 years old) The factory finish coat of "whatever" is disappearing and, I'm sure, getting sucked down the carbs.
I hesitate to paint it for fear of the same result.
Powder coat came to mind.
I know some have...
This thing just won't stay clean. The finish is half of the problem. Wire brush, brake cleaner, wire wheel....
Question: Has anyone tried powder-coating this thorn?
Your input is appreciated.
Finally tore the motor down this morning. Found nothing tragic, but it was due, at least for rings. It's getting a lot more, but I'll still be the last super jet rider! lol.
Old dudes remember when the sj was the s**t! Now it's hard to find one at Daytona. lol.
IMO:
Removing an impellor is never gonna be easy. A bench vise and a long bar is a given. I use the vise to hold the pump vertical while I shoot penetrating juice in there for at least a day before I wrench.
However, every time it's just as tough. Whether it's my pump (changed out pretty often)...
I don't know if I'm doing more harm than good...trying to get this glue off. I've gashed the clear-coat with the razor-scraper a million times. The only real fix at this point is to get it all off, sand and paint.
I've never been much for cosmetics...but, just about every piece of hardware has...
Broken pole bracket as well.
Had to remove a few decals to glass a spot or two....I just kept going (except for the hood). The pig will have a new look as well. Ugly-black-pig.
Getting the glue-residue off is no easy task. Especially where the stock graphics were. Open to suggestions. Acetone...
I just had coffee at the beach....It's big today!
Still pretty messy though.
Go get it Jamie!
This beach-cam shoots thru plastic windows...a bit foggy in the morning.

Sorry if I'm not understanding completely, but I'm having trouble finding the actual question in your post.
The debate will likely go on forever when it comes to 61X vs. 62T and low end hit. The truth is..... get ready......
They are both pretty darn good when dialed in right. Lots of folks...
Hull is empty.
Pump comes out tomorrow.
Seems to spin smoothly without the mid-shaft assembly & splines are good. Thanks to the boss! I thought the drive shaft was gonna be shot.
I'd leave the pump in there, but I'm gonna pull it for nozzle change-out & dual cooling. And a re-install of a...
