whats an empty rn hull going for these days

I'd say with the footholds already done (assuming they are correctly installed and not leaking) and with dry foam, and a one-way valve properly installed, $1000.00 would be a steal. I was actually shocked that I couldn't sell my 2001 with title, pole and XMetal accessories for $1600.00 last...

Need Help Registering home made boat in NJ

It's a pain. I was able to go to Florida and register mine and it was unbelievablely easy. In NJ, from what I experienced last year, the process is that you have to take your boat to a marine police station (not Coast Guard, but NJ State Marine Police) and they will write out some form that...

    Advent Programmable Ignition Curves

Yes, this is for the T3. The two switch states on each T3 allow four different curves (binary 00, 01, 10, and 11 for you geeks). The four curves that are available for a given T3 are specified by the "D" number label taped onto the CDI. They have at least 21 sets of 4 curves (I say this...

    my dream project....

That's pretty cool. I've been toying with the idea of taking a Carolina Skiff (or similar) and cutting off the transom except for the center so that you could ride skis righ onto it. I saw a sherriff boat in Florida that had this setup for ease of loading/unloading something. By doing this...

    Cooling line?

Most colored fuel line either discolors or hardens after about a season. I like Tygon hose. They have a fuel-grade line. If you get the 3/16" you barely need clamps/zipties and it creates a really clean look. I think it only comes in yellow. Fortunate for you if you're doing it for he ski...

    Advent Programmable Ignition Curves

Just an FYI for those running or thinking of running Advent ignitions. Each Advent comes with a curve set of four selectable curves. There are at least 21 different curve sets out there (I am not sure how unique they are, but that equates to 84 different curves). They charge $50.00 to...

    wamiltons vs WCF hulls

Good move. Your 99 hull is a great hull and according to hearsay, much better than the 07 hull. You don't have to send it to Wammer to get that work done. I bet there are a ton of guys on this board from the OH area who would love to help teach you how to do it yourself for some beer and...

    wamiltons vs WCF hulls

Yes the WCF are 20+ pounds lighter than stock. Most aftermarket hoods (including WCF) come in at around 11-13 pounds. Stock is 20-22, so yes, they are lighter. You'll be looking at about 25-30 pounds lighter. You're asking whether you should build stock or aftermarket. The bigger question...

    wamiltons vs WCF hulls

Honestly the WCF hull is the closest-feeling to stock I have ridden (and tried quite a few from stock to ultra-light). Personally I like it, but then a gain, I'm just a power junkie that can't ride for beans. It's all about power-to-weight (like you've seen on other threads). A hull is a...

    wamiltons vs WCF hulls

Adrenaline-wise, it's great. Wallet-wise, it sucks. Light hulls, big motors, race gas, it gets expensive, but contrary to what anyone says, there is no such thing as too much power (i.e., either by big motor or lightweight hull) and you just find a way to satisfy that addiction.

    wamiltons vs WCF hulls

With the D-cut OEM ride plate (which is shorter), the rear of the hull slides and the nose comes up. With the longer plate, teh nose stays down a litle more and you can tame the ski a little better. I like both behaviors at dirrerent times.

    wamiltons vs WCF hulls

Regular length. It behaves drastically different as I switch between a D-cut stock rideplate and a 1 inch long carbon plate. I was surprised at how perfectly everything lined up when building it. No problems at all.

    wamiltons vs WCF hulls

Steve (WCF) did a great job on my hull. He even did some custom mods as he was building it. I brought him a carbon fiber exhaust tube and he used it (no particular reason, just that I had it and wanted something different). He always welcomes you to his shop as he's building your ski too...

    Engine bore

The 701 is a true 701. Don't know why they did that with the 650. I can only guess that they did it to keep up with Kawi from a marketing point of view.

    R and D intake for 44s question?

I'd also suggest using a Nylock nut rather than traditional nut/washer. It will be a lot less fumbling around.

    Engine builders in California?

If he can't give you the shop's name and this is supposed to be such a "special" motor, make sure you are not paying a lot for this. "Strong" is a relative term and it sounds like this ski is tired with low compression and he may be using the old "low compression is good for reliability" line...

Also at Autozone, automotive water outlet gaskets are pretty close. I've used them before in a pinch, but surfjetlouie has great deals on them.
