I'm about to buy a 95 superjet. The guy claims that the previous owner sent the engine to a professional shop in California to be ported and stroked, or somehow built, so that it's now bored to 730cc's and made to run strong at a lower compression so it will last longer. I haven't seen the ski to check compression yet but the motor looks stock in the pics. I'm thinking it sounds kind of fishy. Does anyone know of a shop that does this, what compression I should expect the motor to have, and what else I could check on the engine?
My buddy is supposed to pick up this ski and another tomorrow since I will be out of town. He doesn't know much about engines. The guy is trying to meet him where there isn't any water to test the skis.
