This time of year you should be able to get decently priced airline tickets. For a 15000+ Euro prchase, I would expect that you make that trip to test ride any ski that you are interested in.

Not sure what the consensus was, but if the tubing wall is soft enough (like Tygon) and there are barbs on the fitting you can get away with zip ties. Overall, clamps would be better as they can compress even hard-walled tubing.
