    Start Relay issues

If you replaced the relay and it is still happening, then your problem is likely not your solenoid. Check all of your cables and (especially) grounds for corrosion. Look closely as the corrosion may back up into the sheathing and inch or two.

    What motor to run.

You know, that's a good point. It sounds like you just did a motor swap, so it's not like you were running water injection on one and not the other. I sense that the 701 has good port timing and the big bore may have less than optimal port timing. Based on what Charles mentioned, I would keep...

    What motor to run.

That's a tough call then. Honestly, if you're not planning to spend any more money on whichever one you choose, ask yourself which makes you happier. Often, when someone rides a motor for a while they get bored with it and crave more power. You apparently attempted to get more power by...

    What motor to run.

Harsh..., But you know what, it's often true. You think you have the most powerful motor in the world and then you ride someone else's that just takes it to another level. If you think you can get more money for the big bore, you might just want to sell that one, and run your 701 (which it...

    What motor to run.

Does the big bore hit like a brick and then run out of breath quickly before you even get into the midrange power band (where you really need your power) or is it just too much power across the entire range for you? Bigger is almost always better, but you have to manage the way the power is...

    Company Ratings

It would be interesting if we could set up a Sticky poll that rates the various companies on these items. Something like the new itemized feedback format that eBay makes available about rating sellers on their item quality, shipping speed, shipping price, etc. I thought about this after...

Tis' the season for knock offs (observation/rant)

The other thing that happens when you buy these knock-off products is that you lose the quality customer service of the big guys in our sport. :stups: I do have to say, with the knock-offs you have to be careful, but, right or wrong, they do help to keep monopolies from happening.

    options for internal fuel fill?

I ran this whole season keeping a 5/16" nutdriver and screwdriver handy and undoing the hose clamp around the OEM diptube at the top of the tank. Eventually I got used to it and it doesn't bother me anymore so I think I am just going to leave it. Rich, I'm sure you saw me filling up the couple...

    Advent wiring

Apparently there are two different circuits in that CDI. One for starting and the other for running. There is a problem that Advent has yet to overcome due to the shape of the pulse that is received during cranking. This leads to the advance problem during cranking. If you simply retard the...

    Superjet Turnplate

Here's one of the nicest turnplates that I have seen: http://www.queenford.8m.com/steering_system.html It'll end up being about US$300.00 though.

    Too BLUE for you?

I also think the light letters on dark background is a little hard on the eyes. Take a look here: http://www.writer2001.com/colwebcontrast.htm Interesting reading if nothing else, and the side-by-side comparisons of light on dark vs. dark on light really point out the ease on the eyes...

    PLEASE respond!!

When I was in college and couldn't afford that buret package, but was playing with SB Chevys I made my own. Took a rigid piece of plexiglas (big enough to cover the chamber) and drilled a 1/4" hole in it, sealed it to the flat surface of the head with grease and used a syringe to measure the...

    Xmetal box ?

If your X-Metal box has the T welded onto it then yes, you will have to cut the hose. Recall that the OEM long hose has a 90 degree bend built into it.

66E A/M exhaust- are there any?

There you go. That's what they did with the Octane. 1/2" plate aluminum or so to transition the different cylinder center spacing and bolt patterns..

    750 smoking a lot

Double-check you rcalculations. How much oil do you add to a 5 gallon can? Most oils end up with 16 ounces per 5 gallons giving 40:1, so considering that, I would expect you to be adding roughly 12 ounces per 5 gallons of fuel. Don't jump and buy smokeless oil. You have some other...

New EME exhaust system for superjets!

If you look at the Polaris Octane (and the EME motors) they use an adapter plate to allow them to run a standard, off-the-shelf Yamaha exhaust manifold (well off the Factory Pipe shelf). So, if EME builds it for Yamaha 61X/62T-based motors, it will also work for their Polaris motors (using an...

    All Vendors-please Read!!!

I think the ideas in this thread are good, but demanding sponsorship is like demanding a job. In reality, you ask for a job and you are there to do something for the employer to make them have a successful business. Pat’s contingency post on offering money makes the most sense as far as a...
