    Carburetor Yamaha blaster 760 Stock

Twin carbs don't need any larger N/S because they have time between intake strokes for the bowl to fill. Some of the big triples used 1.2 N/S. Single carbs on a two cylinder engine should have more N/S area than all the jets combined or else It becomes the main jet when pump pressure falls off...

Keep the dual 38s or go bigger?

The 760 carbs will make it pull a little harder. They wont improve top speed unless its a little over propped. Buy a tach if you are even halfway serious about getting the ski to run its best. Finding the correct pump load and carb tune is where most riders fail miserably.

    Leaking ADA O-ring?

The O-ring doesn't seal compression gasses, It seals water away from the steel liner. Otherwise there would be terrible corrosion at the edge of the liner. You may have to resurface the deck and/or place a shim under the domes.

    Need help with 760 compression

Either you have a damaged bore/stuck ring or the ADA head isn't sealing. Its easy to tell by the pisser stream. Steady= no leak, broken=head not sealing to cylinder. BTW Yamahas can be difficult to seal without a gasket. Sometimes you have to resurface the deck and shim the domes.

    Other 2 stroke motor fogging

I think that's a very good idea. Let the engine get too hot to hold on to each time.

Piston Failure. Need help identifying cause.

Your custom curve on pump gas would create you a set of custom pistons in about 30 seconds. The WAX curve is as hot as I would ever use with pump gas.

What are the symptoms of a leaking PFP chamber?

A tiny exhaust leak inside the hull can do this. A quick and dirty test is riding without the hood to see if it changes.

    Other 2 stroke motor fogging

The premix coats everything and creates a barrier between the atmosphere and parts. It may not last long depending on the type of oil and amount moisture in the air. The exhaust system becomes a green house when there is water in it. The engine compartment does too when you leave the hood on...

    Other 2 stroke motor fogging

It depends a lot on what premix you use, expensive racing oil is seldom good for storage . TCW3 does a good job as after run oil. Anymore I use it as premix at 30:1 and do a long blow out run on the trailer. I do it once at the lake and when I get home, the idea is to get rid of as much...

Not Your Average Kill Switch Problem (Unfortunately)

The start and stop switches are wired through the lanyard switch that closes the stop circuit and opens the start whenever the lanyard is pulled. Its common for the boot on the lanyard switch to tear then water quickly ruins it. Storing with the lanyard installed seems to help since the boot...

    Need help!

The ignition timing is probably retarded compared to your old setup. This will make the pilot circuit act leaner plus hurt throttle response. Your carbs were probably on the lean side. . I tried retarding timing 3 degrees once, it only affected part throttle tuning and response. Top end was the...

    coffman vs. b pipe

I can usually bypass enough to get the temp up. Sometimes I have to fill Coffmans hole and drill a smaller one. The Sizzler is shorter and has steeper cones than their Kawasaki version. It works as well as any wet pipe on small engines.

Super Jet Defoaming and weight savings

It was a S/N I drilled several 1/16 holes and used an airbrush compressor. Whoever assembled the hull wasn't too good with the glue gun. After a week I was satisfied and sealed all the hissing joints., mainly around the bulkhead.

Is this stock 650 prop bad?

The rope was the problem. The stock impeller doesn't work very well when compared to others. I see rust in the splines, this will destroy them if theyre not already. If the ski is a keeper, get a modern 750-800 impeller cut for a 650 pump and use a 750 ss/xi driveshaft. Of the old 650...

Super Jet Defoaming and weight savings

I sucked all the water out with a vacuum pump and sealed the leaks. Still weighs 327 fifteen years later.

    running to lean

The pipe requires a richer setting that the stock exhaust. Your sbn38s don't pull very hard on the main circuit so jetting will be much less sensitive than the pilot circuit. Since you are most likely on the rich side with 147 mains, start closing the top screws until it pulls hardest. If the...

650/X-2 Is this gas still good?

I recently restored a 650. They are harder to ride than a Superjet. Kinda fun with a 750 or Yamaha conversion.
