solas 14.7-18.5 is this too tall for a stock 92 snsj

Its probably too tall for any kind of low speed response and acceleration. Lower the leading edge a little and raise the trailing edge. Get the distance from the trailing edge to the blade above under 1.5" My hardest pulling props are 1.3". They seem to work with any 701-760 cylinder with...

    Stock blaster rpm/ top speed

You will have to get your cylinder ported for 7000+ rpm then adjust the pump load accordingly. The crank should be carefully inspected and seals replaced before pumping up any old ski. Find a 62T cyl, they require less work for going fast. A programmable ignition will get you better response on...

Midshaft Talk - Building, Rebuilding, SN vs. RN, etc.

Yamaha used an odd seal, i just use two cheap ones on the aft side. You will have to make an adapter plate or drill holes and install inserts to fit a 4 bolt carrier. The small ones are fine. They fail because corrosion gets between the rubber and metal. Salt water and/or poor storage is...

    Has anyone cc'd a stock 64U head?

Those WC domes arent big enough to cover much more than an 81mm bore. Its shell is drilled for a 61x gasket, newer style gaskets need cooling holes drilled to match. As I remember their 29cc domes made around 180 on a new stock 61x cyl.

    SN waterbox leaking

Sand it clean and cover in epoxy. I would use a little glass to make a fillet around the pipe for support.

Kawasaki 750sx pisser flow - what is normal

Looks normal to me. The stock pisser hose is long and narrow, plus the hull fitting is tiny. The flush fitting on the head is threaded, I always screwed a barb in it and ran a second pisser to bypass some of the exhaust cooling. Net result is a cooler cylinder and warmer exhaust.

    coffman vs. b pipe

Most Yamaha 650 pipes were shorter because of the low port height. I found my full length Sizzler to hit a wall around 6950 rpm. This is on a 61x cylinder with an 81mm bore and 182 degrees open exhaust. My full length Kawasaki 650 Coffmans hits the wall at 6700 rpm with the same exhaust timing...

Freestyle Latest opinions on FW batteries?

I would make a flat waterproof box for lipos and mount it externally behind the hood. They are cheap and durable, just prone to bursting into flames. It would be easy to install as much capacity as needed and use a separate pack for ignition.

    Superjet spark plugs opinion?

I made this unit 12 years ago, still works perfectly. I found some nice ones used on gokarts, they are about half as long as my homemade part.

    Superjet spark plugs opinion?

Most people use a vertically mounted tube for a header tank. The inlet and return line is on top, the carb line near the bottom. A separate pump is required to circulate fuel through the little tank. This way the carb line never get air in it. Mount the pump higher than the crankcase so any...

Dave Ramsey, debt, credit cards, retirement, etc

Its peoples attitudes and behavior that make or break them. Dave pushes a single minded attitude toward debt reduction, which will do the vast majority the most good. Its hard because most people are extroverted so keeping up with the Jonses make them more accepted in society. We all learned...

Change the spring holding the regulator needle closed. Do a little research on this. you have to disassemble the carbs. Dont delve into it unless you are really interested in maintenance and tuning.

Ski cuts out and dies while towing? Any ideas why?

Carbs go lean when you are getting a lot of slack in the rope and there is a lot of jerking. The hard deceleration causes a momentary pressure drop in the carb because the fuel lines run forward. You may also notice pump vibration every time the ski jerks, the inlet pressure drops and a little...

    Superjet spark plugs opinion?

Lowering your popoff pressure a little will richen up the low end and make it come to life quicker when cold. Using the reserve pickup and keeping the tank at least 1/2 full will minimize air in the line on long full throttle runs. I found it so annoying that I installed a second pump and an air...

    Superjet spark plugs opinion?

You engine is not damaged if both cylinders read the same, one will always fail first saving the other. Those are #7 plugs, they will be lighter and drier than #8 for a given carb tune. You are probably okay if both plugs look the same and the ski is running good. If you want to tune, open the...

Dave Ramsey, debt, credit cards, retirement, etc

Texas is a great place to be in your peak earning years. It has become tougher for retirees with so many moving in and running up the price of property. Current and future generations will have to learn to be frugal and save like they did 100 years ago. Labors share of capitol has been in...

    Leaking ADA O-ring?

Yamahas "permanent mold" cylinder design does not work too well without a crushable gasket. ADA should have known better and provided some kind of gasket. The lack of clamping force and water flow control indicate poor design.

Card question or maybe prop idk

You need to be sure about the prop, a little too much will absolutely kill low end response. Retard the timing quicker, have it closer to 20 after 6000 for starters. Watercraft engines are sensitive to timing and compression. At full power they can break/melt pistons in a few seconds if you over...
