    Project_ Freedom_X2

X2s are bad enough about taking on water when stock. You really need to build crossover tubes so the ski can lay on its side and get air without flooding the compartment. The best mod that I ever did to an X2 was moving the steering aft 6-9 inches and installing inclined foot wells at the rear...

    no bottom end power!

That impeller is going to be a little too much load but shouldnt completely kill low end. Last time I had the problem you describe it was an exhaust leak under the hood. I would check compression, ignition timing, and exhaust port height. Less than stock timing will hurt your spool up. as will...

    Tuning help

Pilot jets are sensitive, an 82-85 will usually work depending on popoff. Main jets should be in the 150-160 range. Just power tune the top screw and see how where it ends up at peak power. Change the jet until its around one turn out. I have never found the Pop-off pressure to be very...

Tubbies can be a real pain for cruising around depending on your weight and how low they are mounted. Always great for turning fast though.

    Tuning help

A 15.5 will likely be a little on the high side for a 650 with a Westcoast pipe. You can make them run a lot smoother and reduce load by bending the leading edges down and trailing edges up .1 inches or so. You can reduce wear on the splines by cleaning, greasing, and adding some sealant in...

Super Jet starting point for single carb setup

I would set the popoff around 25 psi, tie the ski to a trailer and find whatever top adjuster/main jet it takes to get peak power. Then I would find whatever pilot that provides best response from 1/4 throttle. If anything changes with the hood installed then find the exhaust leak.

SJ Ocean Pro Ride Plate Opinions

Superjets turn flat so adding fins to the rideplate aren't as helpful as they are on a Kawasaki. You may want an extended plate if you are tall and/or over 180.

    How deep do skis sink?

You have to consider the weight of everything under water. A fiberglass hull has a specific gravity around 2.5 and 1.8 for carbon. Then there's all the metal parts. A lot of hulls are sinking, may be time to rethink flotation and not use a scupper.
