Yeah when they're wet they can be a muther. I use them with my NRS workboot wetshoe , it has a built in neoprene liner that is great for keeping out pebbles (river riding) but are impossible to get on wet skin. Once they're on though, impervious to everything. NRS Workboot Wetshoes | NRS

Working from memory here stock rn/fx pole only run about 9#. The lightest twintube setup I've weighed was a RRP lightweight w/carbon tubes, 9# also. Everything else is going to be heavier. Unless you build your own. I got this one down to 8#.
