X-metal bracket is what I am running...

OK, that makes two of us silly enough to put expensive poles on SN... lol

Very few people are going to put that kind of $$$$ into a SN... I'm probably one of few that even have x-metal poles on the SN.... The rest would have stockers, goose poles and older A/C poles...

The bolt is an M6...

Big bore with 86.5mm pistons on a 48 mikuni...

Tim, I got away with 2" numbers on my x-metal pole for 4 years, and never got questioned by any authorities. I had a discussion with a FWC Officer about this, and he stated it had to be on a non-removable part of the vessel, but he didn't care as long as they were there and could be read.

I did the same as Matt E, and have never looked back.... Styrofoam in the bottom, two part foam in the top, and drain plugs in the rear. I ran two layers of 1708 biax in the tray and up the sides... It is light, the water drains out, and it was positively bouyant in Daytona when I sunk...

I saw that, and I agree that glassing it in will help. I was mainly commenting on Aaron's comments about 99% of the forces pulling the bracket area outwards...

OK, lets think about this... I have twisted my x-metal pole learning to roll, and you are saying there is no torsional stress in the bracket area? I beg to differ, and would not trust countersunk screws into fiberglass. Chad, good looking build you have there, I'll be checking in to see it...
