I've basically got stock steering on the back end of my SXR. I want to get more throw and am thinking of grinding down the steering nozzle so it will turn farther, but I think this will make some blow by on the other side. Anyone done this?
Want to save weight on an SXR? get a versaplug. Your SXR is open to the back and has a channel going to the plug and then has styrofoam in it. There is about 1 gallon that can sit in the back, the versaplug lets that gallon out, saving you about 10 pounds.
Block off the front hole on the hood...use duct tape...whatever....cut a 2nd hole in the back. Problem solved. You will cut water intrusion by 1/2. If you are running a drypipe and large carbs, add a 2nd air hose to the back, if not, you are golden.

Switches are dumb. No need for one. See vid above. Rulemate 1100 for the win. 14 years and built in switch NEVER failed. It has NEVER air locked. Works every time. Even works if your hood falls off and your ski stalls and your 100 yards from it. Even works if it's tied to a dock for a...

Impeller: Keep the stocker (for now), its a great Solas Swirl impeller. You can swap it out for a refurbished one from SBT for REALLY cheap.
Handlepole: Your gonna break it, but I wouldn't go with an RRP, (too heavy for an already heavy ski). I'd go Xmetal w/Superjet steering.
Are you going...
