LOL! So, with the cyl dropped and the squish at .055", the engine was sucking in more air and was asking to be richened. I went from 122.5 > 125 > 127.5 pilot jets and each time got better down low! No bogging, and no hesitation. Dropping the Cyl like I did really woke it up a bit. I'd say...
I just got here.
Good news is, Probably don't need a wetsuit!!
Bad news, apparently a hurricane hit good recently and they removed all the porta potties! Rather than grab yo nutz, hold your poo!!!
Im headed down Thursday night. Will anyone be there Thursday evening at the hotel? Split/Share a room with me? I want to be bright and fresh for Friday if anyone else wants to hit it a day early!
So I put this turd back together with a .010" base gasket and a .050" head gasket. Squish is sitting right about at 0.055" now. Compression is 165psi with 35cc domes.
So if this turd doesn't suck and works I'll be looking to trade these 35cc domes for 33s or 34s.
Thanks guys!
Blue / Nuklear,
Thanks a bunch for honest responses. I'm running dual OEM SBN44s off a GP760. Jetting specs:
Pilot - 122.5
NS - 2.0
Spring - 65g (I tried 95, and then 80g, but the 65g worked noticeably the BEST just off idle)
Main - 115~125 (Still dialing it in)
Current jetting the ski hits...
Hey guys,
I've got a 62T-Y1 717cc cylinder that I don't know whats up or what it was meant for. I took it out of a '94 WaveRaider, but the cylinder's objective has got me stumped. Ive re-built it twice as I just can't get the squish dialed in correctly for my WB1 application. At 0.045"...

so, I got a set off OEM Mikuni/Yamaha sbn44 carbs out of a GP760. I built them up and tuned the things as follows.
2 turns low screws (These are fine threadded screws)
122.5 Pilot jet (Tried 127.5 and 125 and it was too rich after 1/8 throttle)
2.0NS
65g spring (Tried 95 then 80 and it was...
I say lets not risk it with the large shop lamps. In total I'm bringing 6x outdoor 60w equivalent LED lights. I bet the whole string only draws 70w total. I'd rather save the energy for HVAC in the camper. Its starting to dip into the 40s at night!
Here's my backyard spray job.
If you choose to spray outside instead of in a booth it helps a bunch to wet the ground 20feet around the ski to help trap anything airborne.
I ran my sprinkler system for 15 minutes.
You'll only have to stop when the line pressure can't keep up with the guns demand.... aka if the tank drops to 80psi and all of a sudden the gun drops to 25psi - you'll know to stop and wait for recovery.
Set your gun static pressure to 40psi, and if it pressure drops below 30 when in-use then...
Yes those little red filters should be enough. They trap water and oil to eliminate fisheye.
Also don't think you'll want to try higher air pressure at the gun at any point. You may think this will help with flow rate but what it will do is over-atomize and dry the paint too much before it...
