    I think they help if youre flopping a lot of backflips lol. But all I did was took some new heavy duty stainless washers from fastenal and roughed up both sides with a grinder to bite into the fastener and bedplate. Never moved a mm all summer after dozens of "backflops" lol

    Ya i am, every time. And they both do what I said very consistently (35 pop to 30 and 35 pop to 17). Think i should get some new needles and seat?

    They are popping at the same PSI, 35PSI each. No leaking before or after. my concern is that one, after popping (no leaking) seats cleanly and quickly at about 17psi. The other pops at the same 35psi but reseals at like 30psi. No leaking either

    Sounds good. So even tho one of my carbs is popping off to a much lower number it should be fine since the popoff is the same and they seal cleanly (arent leaking or bubbling)?

    I was just going through my carbs (dual 44) cause they run like crap, and noticed that my valve bodies have different #'s. One has "R 1-2-3" and the other says "R 1-2-1".     300/440/550 No Power and running hot - 550SX

    Just found out my 550SX high speed was way too rich, like nearly 2 turns out when it should be according to factory pipe, around 7/8 turn out. Would running really rich cause it to overheat? Obviously lean does, but ive never heard of rich causing overheating?

    I should say that it idles perfect, not lean, and I even tried richening the high speed 1/4 turn to see if it was running lean and it started smoking out the exhaust and ran worse, so I feel like thats a decent sign its not lean at the carbs.
