I have a mold that fits a deka etx-9 size battery with a Velcro channel that Donnie was thinking about. I thought I saw a battery shelf of some sorts hidden under the exhaust on your ski.
Throw your gas can in the tray and keep it pinned in with your knees until you get to your ride spot. Stash it on shore and fill up as needed. Bets of both worlds. Have fuel and keep your ski light.
Well Mr. Dart, I'm not sure about changing any benchmarks, but I definitely met and slightly exceeded my own personal goals. If you need some help trimming some fat off your next creation, give me a holler.
Well I don't want to discuss what other hull builders do, as I don't really know exactly what they are doing besides what I've read and saw in person. Having only built 3 hulls, I don't even consider myself a hull builder. I just know that I have eaten, slept, and pooped composites for the...
At this time I don't have the intentions to sell any hulls. It takes way more time than most think to build a hull. I now understand why rickters and superfreaks are priced how they are. At best, I may offer a kit at an affordable price for the buyer to fully assemble. I'm also pretty sure any...
And here is the ready to ride weight without fuel, and in this case graphics. I am also running a dasa 850 with pfp and oem 155 pump. I will gain a few pounds when I upgrade to a mag pump next year, but may counter balance that with a carbon chamber.
Well thanks to everyone for checking...
Moving along, this is the hull with hood completely bonded and foamed with all inserts, exhaust, scupper tube w/scupper, hood latch, and extinguisher hardware.
Oh man, a couple of you guys are trying to build up some serious hype. @hodges22 , I hope you've got a fresh set of drawers ready. First things first. When I built my fiberglass hulls, they weight in close to some of the carbon skis on the market. 68 and 64lbs with hoods, ready to assemble...
Here are some pics of the hood. As you can see, I have a couple extra breather tubes that pull air from the front portion of the tray, but are part of the hull. The tubes are tucked in on each side of the midshaft to keep any unwanted water near the scupper tube inlet. The front pin and...
Here is a pic of the ski I built last year with @SomeDonnieDude It's the same as the '13 of mine but shortened a bit more. As you can see, I pretty much reworked everything.
Thanks Brad. I wanted you it take it for a spin, but we were always crossing paths to refuel and you took off early on Sunday. I'll get the tuning spot on for next year and see you in Georgia again.
The 13 model is gutted at the moment. I can come up with some pics when I get home from work tonight. There are some similarities as I modified my original molds to make new plugs to cut up for the new design.
Well, here's my buddy Shawn, @fatboyktm, striking a pose with the bottom deck after a rough trim. (Playing with a different intake design, so I'm not letting that cat out of the bag yet)
Shawn wasn't training for a strong man event.
