About 5 years ago, I was pulling a motor out a 650, and couldn't figure out how to disconnect the stator wires, so I cut all of them with intent to just solder and reconnect.......Never ran right again. 2nd mistake = buying the 650

Sounds elementary, but doublecheck your connection at the battery. I have had the same problem, and that was the culprit.

When you buy a new ADA head, they tell you to install the head to where the pissers are on the carb side of the motor, which is oppisite from stock. So I would say you are in good shape.
