Obviously you need the required safety gear, lifejacket,etc. Also bring your gas, oil, maybe some light tools (never know). Money for the ramp fee too, its not outrageous (if camping out I think its free?) Others might chime in with ideas too.

While my idea has worked great in my application, Chuck is the man for the engine tuning so take what he says with more weight than my suggestion. I never really thought about the beneficial effect of the jet being closer to the carb, it makes sense.
An appropriate size Mikuni pilot jet will "screw" right into the plastic return line nipple on the gas tank. That's where I put the one on my son's SJ. You can then put the return hose right over the nipple. With clear lines you can see the jet doing its job sort of.

I presume the FCV would go in the similar location (between T and the stinger inlet) on a B-piped Yamaha? What kind of gains would one expect on the low end, would it be worth it?

Don't let that pipe continue to rub on the ribs of the hull without padding it or grinding the ribs down, or you'll put a hole in the pipe in a short period. I just took my pipes out of my RNs for a lookover and found nice wear...
