    Shortening the FX1

His build would be an excellent place to start for ideas about where and how to slice up a FX. It is an awesome build. I would be too leery of butchering up my ski to go that radical. The results speak for themselves. Big hull mods require big skills. I have access to them, I just don't posses...

    Shortening the FX1

A/M hulls are usually lighter, and purpose built. Shortening your hull will go a long way toward your goal. A lot of progress has been made in this area, but the path seems difficult and frustrating. Do your research and build. If you succeed, it will give me hope. I would think big bottom end...

Most peeps just take out the OEM bilge system and use the through hull tube left from that. Prolly ought to put in some electric bilge pumps though.

    Building 2 skis

You should be able to find used performance parts, reasonably priced, but high performance 550's usually have short lives. Subs, firehose & hoodtricks all are 550 domain, with out lots of money invested. Ride it until it bores you then sell while still intact.

    How NOT to ride surf...

After 2 treks to Daytona, this vid seems to recap my experience.I realize this is a wreck/crash vid, not including the ripping the OP did. The surf learning curve seems very steep, while the group I ride flat with seems very comfortable in surf. While they are out past the break going big, I'm...
