im building a superjet freeride ski for surf and flatwater should i get tubbies ?what do they do and if so what kind?
Tubbies make a Superjet carve better. You can lay the ski over in turns much easier than without Tubbies.
In surf, they keep the front of the ski more buoyant and keep it from digging in the nose when you go down the front of a wave.
I have Tubbies II and am very happy with the handling improvement on flat and in surf.
I have never tried any other type of Tubbies.
I believe I have mastered that trick.Let's call it a Davey Jones.I rode a few ski's with them Ross's and Randy Lane's.Those two ski's are set up so differently.I have not put them on my ski yet. Can't say, never done that.
Only thing I can say for sure is that they keep the nose from digging down quite as soon as without them.
That's what made me buy them in the first place. :lmao:
At the very first Blowsion Beach Party I attended ('06), I went over the bars in front of a crowd. :haha:
Hasn't happened again since putting Tubbies on.
Agreed ! You gotta keep your eyes open always looking. It's a treat watching Randy ride at the Beach Parties. He'll be the only guy zipping WFO parallel to the beach 5 yards from shore.
Makes it a chore for the noobs to get out. :lmao:

#.0 or "Zero" tubbies are the sh*t.....and a great price. they are much bigger and contour perfectly to the sj hull. easy install
Get them from Tom21! Easy to instal cuz they were made specifically for the SJ! Cheaper than Blowsion also!
I think I"m going to put tubbies on my tubbies.
toms are going on my x2 build
actually the 08 and up superjet came with mild tubbies and i hear people are installing tubbies on top of them
