Tubbies make a Superjet carve better. You can lay the ski over in turns much easier than without Tubbies.
In surf, they keep the front of the ski more buoyant and keep it from digging in the nose when you go down the front of a wave.
I have Tubbies II and am very happy with the handling improvement on flat and in surf.
I have never tried any other type of Tubbies.

also, when you ride a superjet with no tubbies there is a point when leaning it over it gets a bit twitchy and you need to give it gas to not slide out. The tubbies make the transition from riding on the bottom of the hull to the side a lot smother and eliminates the twitchyness.

Do you think they help when your ski is off throttle going sideways and or backwards on the face of the wave?

Can't say, never done that.
Only thing I can say for sure is that they keep the nose from digging down quite as soon as without them.
That's what made me buy them in the first place. :lmao:
At the very first Blowsion Beach Party I attended ('06), I went over the bars in front of a crowd. :haha:
Hasn't happened again since putting Tubbies on.

I believe I have mastered that trick.Let's call it a Davey Jones.I rode a few ski's with them Ross's and Randy Lane's.Those two ski's are set up so differently.I have not put them on my ski yet.

It's a treat watching Randy ride at the Beach Parties. He'll be the only guy zipping WFO parallel to the beach 5 yards from shore.
Makes it a chore for the noobs to get out. :lmao:

im building a superjet freeride ski for SURF and flatwater should i get tubbies ?what do they do and if so what kind?

The key word here is SURF. "Tubbie" style sponsons greatly improve a Super Jets handling in the surf in all areas. I'm not trying to bash anyones business but Tubbies are Blowsions product and in my opinon there are other versions of these types of sponsons which are superior to Blowsions. I believe Tom21 makes a version which is even larger and has a superior fit. Personally I made my own. If you have any kind of basic sculpting talent you can shape your own by applying two part foam, shaping them and then covering them with glass.

toms are going on my x2 build

actually the 08 and up superjet came with mild tubbies and i hear people are installing tubbies on top of them

I've heard that every newer ski that has a tubbie shaped front works better with tubbies on them. so I want tubbies on my tubbies.

Tubbie IIs can be annoying on smooth water if they are mounted too low. Mount them a little higher if you are small, have a short pole, or long rideplate.
