TBM flywheel kicking my butt

there is a little added stress to running it backwards as the piston pins are slightly offset to minimize thrust pressures and piston rocking while running the right way.

It would happen after a sub or a stab....I'd come back up and the engine still ran, but sounded off. I would gas it, the engine would rev up, but absolutely no output from the pump.
I had to turn it off, and restart.
Problem solved.

I figured out WTF was happening when it tried to suck my swim trunks into the steering nozzle.

OK, so grounds could be bad. I'll check that again and add another. Oh yeah, the Vilder isn't totally dead because I can still download the timing map out of it with my laptop.

I swapped back to my stock flywheel today. No difference. So I swapped in an MSD Enhancer - fired right up. So I re-installed the Vilder - NOTHING. So I put my other Vilder on - fired right up. I'm scarred to re-install this TBM flywheel.

Does anyone know if Vilder is still around, and can I send mine in to get repaired?

you said you put back on/ re-installed the vilder twice... is that typo?

out of business and they were potted anyway so no way of fixing them.
can you still read it on your laptop?
can you do a reset?

I can read it with my laptop. I tried saving the file to the laptop and the uploading it back to the Vilder but that didn't change anything. Is there another way to reset it?

Thanks,

Aaron

Sorry, not quite right.
Even though the starter spins it in the right direction, if the timing is too far advanced, the engine can and will run backwards.
I've had that happen personally.

The starter only gets it going - if the ignition fires too early (and both plugs fire at the same time!), it will kick the engine into reverse.

Pauls motor used to do that sometimes... too much comp. and too light of a flywheel and too advanced of timing will do it.
