Ike's surf

Just come up to Austin :beerchug:

They are calling for 25 ft waves and 17-20 ft storm surge at Galveston Island... Conditions will be similar all along the coast from Galveston to Corpus Christi...
I evacuated from Harbor Island, TX yesterday and I was planning on hooking up with penguin and quickmick, but we got evacuated today to San Antonio... We went from the Hilton... to this roach motel we are in now! Argh... wish I had a ski to go ride atleast...

Anyone in the San Antonio area want to hang out show me around I'll buy the drinks... I am gonna be stuck here till Sunday at the earliest...

be careful in storm surf.... It's very unpredictable..

most of all, have fun!!!!!!!!!

we get surf like that every so often here....and I am DONE riding in that crap...

Slutty is right...that stuff is so unpredictable and dangerous.......When we are out there in those conditions all I am doing is monitoring my equipment and watching out for the boys

the day you have to do a rescue with 25 foot faces is the day someone is giong to die

The authorities really can't keep you from going out in dangerous surf. It's your right to go out in the ocean when you want, just don't expect anyone to come look for you, cause they won't.

We had Coast Guard pull up by us in storm surf and tell us to go back, we said, "no" they just said, "you are on your own"...

GUMP,TRICkY AND A COUPLE OF OTHERS ARE HITTING ORANGE BEACH TOMARROW. gump told me that it was pretty much unrideble today and not worth the effort. he is the living surf report since he works right at the pass. i will not make it this weekend. i am without child care and the ski is down for a couple of repairs and a new total loss.

Check out the current wave heights here...20.3ft in some spots.
Here when the waves get really gnarley (hasn't happened in a couple years) the coast guard sits at the ramps and tells us "we don't recommend you going out" and "you are on your own".

yuck...20ft at 10sec..thats just ugly, washing machine conditions ..generally a good ground swell runs between 14-20sec intervals..last winter we had a 22ft at 20sec..that was a good day..

Believe me I am trying to get up there... I am looking for a car right now... I saw the Alamo, got the t-shirt... walked the river walk and I really want out of my roach motel... I would love to go up and ride with the wavegoddess if I can...

1 problem now though... just like those fools trying to wait it out in Galveston :twak: they are trying figure a way to send me out on a chopper to the rig in the morning once the storm makes land-fall...

Current Measured Wave Height @ the Rig is 18 ft waves...
