Waterdawg hood install problems

I got my new Waterdawg Diablo hood kit in and went down to install it... I put my hood hooks on and it doesn't fit. It doesn't go all the way down in the back, and does like a nose wheelie. ha ha. Has anyone had this prob? I read that i can shim the top bolts on the hooks, and that was my plan. Is there any other way to fix it? How is the shimming holding up? Thanks guys!

I went back to stock hood hoks and it fit perfect.

Be sure to leave the hood side hooks loose when fitting it in and then tighten the bolts.

Damn dude! When I met you down in Pensecola, you were rockin an old 750, never rode a superjet. I let you ride my stock 650 SJ, and next thing I know your sporting a round nose with a waterdawg hood? You bastard! I assume you'll return the favor and put me on that thing next time, right..?

When I installed my diablo hood with oem hooks, it did the same. I just adjusted the clearence holes in the hooks to benefit as much as I could, then I was able to push the hood down the little bit needed by hand without any major flexing. I used a sinch strap to hold the hood down and mark everything up for the latch bracket. I don't know if this is the correct way, but it worked for me.

Hey guys, work has been crazy so i usually only get on here at night now. But i a soon as got home from work i started putting the ski back together! I ended up shimming the top bolts and the hood goes on snug now. Hood latch holds it tight! The nose piece required a little bit of grinding to get it to go on right and such. But all i have left to do i re-install the gas tank and such! I can't wait to ride it sunday! I went ahead and shortened the stock pole 3 inches while i had it off as well...

Only thing is i can't get the cable divider rubber thingy back in with the lowered bracket. ANyone just leave thiers off? And of course.... pics very soon!
