The big pain in the ass is making the water jackets and still being able to bolt the damn thing on. When we were attempting to build our own, we were going to use small thick wall stainless tubing to run the bolt through. That way you get the bolts out where you can get to them, just a thought.

I was gonna do the same when i was planning mine the only issue with that is the 2 middle bolts where they need to be short would be the issue

thats not a bad idea. it's more like a stock manifold that way.

to late though, the real piece is underway. it's going to be like an octagon around each pipe. the sheet stainless sheet metal is bending pretty easy so hopefully it keeps going well.

most of the work today went to cleaning up welds and putting a general shape to the jacket. I think tom is going to pick up where I left off later today. he wants it on the water friday. :Banane01:

interesting idea too, but you have no idea the abuse Tim will inflict on it! it would last all of an hour is my guess. no - wait he would kink it and put a hole in it before the hood closed!

[EVIL]FYI-tinfoil not only protects your thoughts from the government and aliens it make an awesome manifold jacket. super easy to weld with Elmer's glue![/EVIL]
