I lost 12 lbs last night... Wheeew...

I saved some serious weight with my battery. I put in 8 AA batteries. It's a total of 12 volts and it's only a few ounces. I'm currently working on a modification add a kick starter. I might go with a pull start... haven't quite decided yet.

I put mine in last night. It seems to turn over pretty strong with no fading. We will see how she does.

180 cca's, 5.5lbs.....as compared to an oddysey 200 cca's, 15lbs or so i think???






most of the little leadacid 4lb batts are around 90-110 cca's, so this one shyould perform nicely!

its sealed from the manufacturer...and states in the mani that it is safe to use in any position..

the one I am using is the WalMart everstart max. I will let you know how it works. It seems to crank pretty strong.

ran this battery in my REV all weekend long at daytona..No issues, and it hit full charge in <10 minutes when I got home..great little battery!

My 4lb Neverstart has been serving me quite well however it just started to act up. Doesn't hold a charge like it used to so rather than wait I'd rather pick up another one.

Yep, my Neverstart is toast.
Put it on the charger (2 Amps) overnight and the ski started just fine in the morning. By the afternoon it barely cranked over.

Still got a good run out of the battery, every other Neverstart I have ever had never lasted more than a year. This little one held up for over 8 months and I bet half that time it had more water in it than acid (fountains rule ?!?).

i read through 8 of these pages and got tired, but any of you guys try the champion 4lb batteries? i have a regular size everstart that is craping out on me right now and i would like to go to one of these light weight ones. ive never used champion but i found one for $22

I picked up a deka EXT9 for 55 bucks and so far so good. I'm running 185 compression and it turns it over with no problem.

I have the 4.5lb yausa w/ 130cca.... works really good... only problem is that once in a while (not very often) it will just spin the bendix without throwing it out to engage... I chalk that up to just a little lack of balls compared to the stock battery... doubt the bendix is bad since my ski is an 07... I also have a TBM aluminum flywheel I stuck on, but also doubt that has anything to do with it.....

even when it spins the bendix... I just press the button 2 or 3 times and it ends up chucking the thing out to engage... the 8 or 9 lbs of weight savings is nice... I ride at a small lake 90% of the time, so I feel comfortable with it as far as if it takes a dump.... would not have far to swim or get towed...

I have an older "full size" Champion that has lasted a very long time.
Is it an AGM?
Do you know CCA's?

i bet you have moisture in the front cover:sad6:

doubt it... but who knows... it isnt getting any worse... I would say its more likely the battery not having enough balls?

I have a ytz7s, and never had a problem with it engaging the bendix. That battery will start 1000cc streetbike, so it has enough balls. Either way it's an easy way to drop some pounds off the front of the ski.
