The Good Old Days
Never-Start

That be the one.
It's a cute little thing that with the help of some padding and zip ties has stayed in the battery tray quite nicely.

The best part about this battery is that when I had to take out my fuel tank I just moved it to the side without disconnecting any wires.:cheer:

yeah.

Ive gone round and round with folks about that before.

the ONLY logical thing I can see, is possibly the floor is cold, and COOLS the battery some, but I cant imagine enough to reduce its cranking capacity.

wive's tale, myth, not true.

I just finished making a concrete shelf to hold all of my Odyssey batterys.

:beerchug:

was not a myth when batterys had wooden cases, i'm not old enough to had ever seen a battery with a wooden case??:djsmilie:

I went and tried this out ?
I got a 4 lbs everstart, yellow box, motorcycle/scooter.
Charged it and tested it on a buddies ski...
It was 200 compression. and the little battery would not kick it over.

Did I get a bad battery, or will this not work with bigger power motors ?

That's probably because its a Never start
:haha:

I use a 5lb autocraft from Advanced Auto Parts... I know it had quite a bit more cranking amps then the 4lb model they have there.

But there is another one someone around here has been using that has good cranking amps... weird name.

Just for the record batteries were never made with wooden cases. What happened was this, during war time plastic supplies were running low so sawdust was mixed in with the plastic to make an extender or filler. These casings were very porous because of the sawdust and I am told if you left one
of these batteries on a concrete floor it would discharge rapidly. :pat:
