hmmm... maybe I will pull the cover tonight and inspect.... I have kart tank so it will be super easy... damn yamaha bendix should last another 5-10 years... but hell... who knows... doesnt hurt to check it out anyways.... maybe it just needs lubed up a little... I will throw some white lithium grease spray on it...

Its an 07 ski... bendix is of course oem.... I never sprayed any grease on it when I took it apart to put the TBM flywheel on... I sealed the cover up pretty darn good when I put it back on..... bendix never did it last year though with the stock battery and before I took the cover off to put on that flywheel...

Any ideas of what I should check to make sure I dont get screwed out of ride time this season? Like I said... most of the time the bendix pops right out... just like 1/10 times it will spin.... then I push the button once or twice and it will throw it out... maybe just spray it in place with a little white lithium grease and work it in and out by hand without taking everything apart???

Just take the bendix out, and put a little grease inside it. You can also soak it in some transmission fluid over night to clean it up.

i would definatly try lubing it a little in place first.you got nothing to lose.

i found that most water inrusion probs in the front cover come from the starter.a bead of rtv/silicone around the snout cures this.

not going to be NEARLY as good....

how many Ah are they?

here's a few I have tried....Love the 'Xtreme' brand.....they are about 7lbs, 12Ah and seem to work very well..

the last one I had lasted 1.5 years and RARELY needed a charge...only had to replace it because the terminal got broken by someone with ape fingers
