I'm wanting to get some footholds, but I"m nervous to do the install, I'm sure I can do it no prob, just always leary of cuttin the ski up! What are the best footholds? Easy to instal? and doesnt hurt the structure strength of the ski?

There are a lot of threads covering this subject. Ultimately it will come down to personal preference.

My only experience with foot holds are with Wamilton Rickter's, and now WaterDawg R.E.V. Holds. My buddy who has done most of the glassing would probably agree that the Rickters were easier to install.

In my opinion no foothold will not inhibit the structural strength of the ski as long as installed properly and foam pored back into the ski is also done properly.

I rode for the first time w/ my new REV footholds. UNREAL!!!

I love them. There is so much room for my feet to move around. It really helps for surf riding IMO

I would not recomend them for your first instal though... they are not made for a SuperJet, as the name says REV...

What about the 24-7's?

I ware a size 11 shoe. If that helps.

the waterdogs aren't meant for the SJ??? Also are you guys talkin about the normal ones or the ones with the enclosure?

I have installed 24-7's and REVs and I feel they both went in really easy. I don't think any foothold will weaken your ski if properly insatlled and reinforced.

The REVS with enclosures feel AWESOME but were very tough to turf IMO.

There's just more to the install then the others..... there's less overlap (especially on the bottom) and more tray to be removed for where you're ankles go and exhaust clearance issues so more room for error. If you haven't done an install before it probably can be a little overwhelming at first sight compared to the others but if you take your time it'll be Ok.

They where my first full install and it was difficult but not impossible. Now that they are in and I can stand on it I am SO glad I went with the REVs!!

The guys running the REV's are you using the inclosed ones? or tht normal ones. I'd like a set that holds good, is comfortable but doesn't protrude to much into the tray, Its small tray to begin with!

I bought the enclosures but decided not to run them, they look like they will work well without them. Without the enclosures they do not take up an more tray space than any other hold. Maybe next year I will put them in. I have yet to ride with them but plan on taking it out wednesday.
