There are many very fine oils on the market. It's really not fair to try to judge them all. But I'm a fan of Synthetics, personally. I prefer R-50 or Amsoil over the others, for various reasons.
As for the dino oils, Super M, Yamalube, Quicksilver & a host of others are top quality.................
To start, you need to understand what the oil does in your motor.
The oil doesn't burn!!!! It's intended purpose is to lubricate ALL motor internals. That happens upon fuel atomisation. The oil comes out of suspension with the fuel, & rolls along the internal surfaces of the motor, lubricating as it goes. finally it's expelled thru the exhaust.
What I look for is an oil that suspens with the fuel well, & stays that way. Lubricates well & has corrosion inhibitors. & also leaves little residue in the exhaust tract.
Here is a simple little test for your oil...........
Mix a gallon at your normal mix ratio. Get a clear 1/2" tube. Siphon the fuel mix from one container to another. What you are expecting to see is. once in the tube, the oil will come out of suspencion with the fuel & "roll" down the sides of the tube?
One thing to definately rember when you purchase oil............You get what you pay for!!!!
